Over the next few years the existing structure of Sun will be restored to close to its original condition. Compared to Syntan we have a flying start. The engine and controls are in good working order, as is the hull above the waterline.
We have completed a full survey and the necessary replating has been carried out. A new superstructure over the existing hold will be produced, containing a w/c and galley, both suitable for access by wheelchair via a lift.
The front section behind the forward cabin will have a small cockpit for use on fine days. Behind this the main saloon will have removable and fixed seating and tables, as well as securing for wheelchairs. At the rear will be the w/c, and a small hot drink making area with sink. The existing engine room, with a new and larger wheelhouse, will be repaired and retained, and additional heating and electrical equipment will be installed.
The vessel will be limited to carrying 12 passengers
